About the event
During this workshop at the Racine Studio, participants will explore the beauty of flowers and foliage with watercolor paint. We will be painting from a variety of examples to express leaves, petals and plant structure. Develop a style for your painting while learning new techniques.
Agenda:
Work Session 1 (2:00 to 3:00 p.m.): Sketch a series of small studies using one or two stems of flowers. Create paint swatch samples. Modify paint using granulation medium, water, salt and petals/leaves. Construct layers of color.
Break (3:00 to 3:15 p.m.)
Work Session 2 (3:15 to 5:30 p.m.): Paint a 9"x12" composition using techniques from first session. Prepare the final project (on large watercolor board) and use the remaining studio time to build layers of color and visual texture.
Workshop includes all materials to create a 16"x20" watercolor painting, plus several smaller studies on 9"x12" paper.
*This workshop is limited to 8 vaccinated participants.
**Registrants are welcome to bring professional art supplies (paint, brushes, pastels, pencils) to use in addition to the materials provided for the workshop.
